Mi hermano Javi — David Catá

A flor de piel

The body as a living diary. The skin as the pages on which a life is written.

About the series

A flor de piel is an autobiographical artistic project in which Catá uses his own body as a living diary. Through real stitches on the palm of his hand, he portrays the faces of people who matter in his life: family, friends, partners and teachers.

For Catá, the human body is a canvas that reflects our surroundings and our experiences. Our interactions with others leave their mark on us, and their images are projected onto us, reminding us of where we come from.

A flor de piel is a project that goes beyond visual representation, becoming an emotional and reflective experience about the fleeting nature of existence and the persistence of memory.
