Reminiscencias

Reminiscencias is a photographic series by David Catá that explores the capacity of flowers to become symbols of human experience. Throughout history, flowers have accompanied our most important moments —celebrations, farewells, births, losses— becoming a language able to express what words cannot describe.

Each image is built as a careful set design in which different flower species take on their own meaning: each flower stands for a lived moment. The compositions also include dandelion seeds, a recurring element in his work; if flowers are the events that mark a life, the seeds speak of what remains and keeps travelling with us.

The apparent lightness of the flowers contrasts with the intensity of the emotions they represent, in a delicate balance between beauty and fleetingness.
