Vidas convergentes

The hands of his loved ones, embroidered until they converge on a single point on his palm.

About the series

Vidas convergentes is a photographic and performance project by David Catá about the way the people around us end up building our identity. On the palm of his hand he embroiders with needle and thread the silhouettes of the hands of relatives and loved ones.

The hands surround his own, present but never complete: only that with which we touch, care for and accompany others. The embroidered lines run across the skin until they converge on a single central point, where the bonds cease to be isolated relationships and become a common structure.

No life is built independently: we are the result of encounters, care and shared experiences. Each thread reveals an invisible network of relationships that keeps existing even when time or distance change its presence.
