Now playing in cinemas“El día de ayer”in “Arriba Tutto”, by José MotaThe story

My grandmother Lolina was twelve when the Spanish Civil War broke out. Her family lived in Oviedo, but she was in Madrid with her grandparents. What was meant to be a short stay ended up separating her from her parents and siblings for years.
Madrid, Barcelona, Pedralbes, Montignac… Her childhood went by in trying to get back home. During that time she wrote letters to her family. Many of them began the same way: “Queridos todos:” — Dear everyone.
I learned her story as a teenager. Years later, when Alzheimer’s was beginning to take her memories, I tried to piece it back together with her. I recorded her talking about her childhood, the war, her family.
Queridos todos: is not an album about the Civil War. It is an album about a twelve-year-old girl trying to get back home. About fear, distance and loss, but also about what manages to outlast time.

The original letters Lolina wrote to her family, the starting point of the album.
Write to him
Let’s talk
A “Queridos todos:” concert, an idea, a question… Tell him about it and he’ll reply himself.
Like Lolina’s letters, but the other way round: this time, you write to him.
