Parcas

The Fates were three women charged with writing people’s destiny by weaving the thread of life. A life turned into past, an interweaving of experiences in the form of a spider’s web, a snare on which memory settles in the clutches of oblivion.

Through family portraits I depict lives that are present and past at once, and that in the future will become oblivion, where only the material traces will remain, the fruit of a personal effort devoured by time.

My mother, from the very morphology of the skin, weaves the experiences of these people that the photograph is unable to show.
